Obligatory New Years Countdown Thread

in General Discussion edited January 2014
First and foremost: have yourselves a fine evening of partying, dancing, drinking, porking, or whatever else you might be considering for the hours leading up to your own personal midnight. Me I'm kicking back with my lady, a couple good friends of ours and a six pack of Bass and some good finger foods. No Champagne, I guess. Ah well. Bass is better!

Second of all: let the countdown begin... just under 8 hours left here in Chicago!

Thanks for a great year everyone (Artman, Powerdoc, Scates, iBook, BR, BRussell, Hassan, Mr. Kopf... all of you yahoos)... and especially thanks to the mods for keeping things relatively sane around here. Cheers!

The Expedition Eight ISS crew's orbital track travels west to east, so countdowns are relative

    Quote:

New Year's Day officially begins for Expedition 8 at 0000 GMT Thursday, which is 6 p.m. CST Wednesday at the Mission Control Center in Houston, Texas. Because of its orbit, the ISS will cross into the new year 16 times. Foale and Kaleri will enjoy light duty to start 2004.

read and watch their greetings here

    Festive Wishes to all.
