Enabling Ink without Wacom ?

Ive just gotten my acecad ( oooo ) tablet out of storage, and would like to play with ink. Does anyone know how to get it to turn on without having to have a wacom tablet? Do I just need to get a driver for it that specifically identifies it as a tablet ( it works upon being plugged in, but I guess just as a mouse ).

Didnt work. It struggled for a while. But I guess it wants a wacom.

Anyone know where to get some tablet drivers to fool ink?

I don't see any MacOS X drivers for the Acecad tablets. Unless it sees some device that can use it (a tablet), Ink does not appear. It sounds like you don't have a specific driver, so it is falling back on the USBIOKit driver for mice (tablets are a subset of mice), and so Ink does not fire up.

I am at a loss for words.

Never in my life did I expect the crappy acecad to have drivers for OS X, they even support 10.3

Ill try it as soon as I get home.

    Yippee.

The acecad drivers come with a script to enable ink. So sweet, wohooo. The recognition is good, but it is so much nicer to use than the newton, thanks to the clear division between tablet and mouse, and the big screen.

    Ink is sooooo sweet.
