question about latch light

When I first got my powerbook, the light on the latch worked. Now it doesn't. Anyone know why this would be? I had posted earlier about the uneven gap when closed. I talked to a product specialist who says that all powerbooks have uneven gaps. Just some are more noticeable and they have uneven gaps, because if it was even, it would put too much stress on the lcd and crack it. There is a range for the gaps and they test them by inserting quarters and see how big of a stack fits in the gap. I found this to be very interesting. But, right now I need help with why the light on the latch won't light anymore. Thanks in advance.
