Well, here are the details of tonight's speech. (NYT). Apparently, no further mention of an "axis of evil," but expect to see Bush overstate a few things like crediting his "confrontational stances" with getting Libya to disarm.
Not really. We've been suspecting pull outs during or right after the Republican Convetion. Works with their US campaign strategy. August or September.
Also I suspect he'll brag about how well the economy is turning around and how the tax cuts need to be permanent and may need even more to stimulate job creation. which of course is a crock.
They'll hardly be any mention of Afghanistan or Osama.
Oh and more privatization ideas for social security that he has no way of paying for.
And brag about improved test scores that he can in no way prove he had anything to do with.
...And brag about improved test scores that he can in no way prove he had anything to do with...
I don't think one needs to prove they had anything to do with it, though most probably try to. This is a "State of the Union" speech, not a "State of which of my policies have been most effective" speech.
If test scores are up, regardless of his actions, then it's important to report.
I didn't comment on the truthfulness of the ad. I just think it's a stupid ad. Poorly executed and done in a mocking tone, which is not something the vast majority of people are receptive to.

I'm harboring a feeling there's going to be a "one more thing" announcement: a hard-date scheduled pullout of Iraq.
THAT would be a shocker.

It's actually very predictable.

Jeepers, why is it so important for humans to be holier-than-thou?
ANY President would report that information with relish.
Again, now we see the violence inherent in the system.
Partisan cheese anyone?
