I past by Macbidouille= <a href="http://www.hardmac.com"; target="_blank">www.hardmac.com</a> now and it says that Amazon UK will release Jaguar the 13th, that's quite strange,Steve said it would be launched the 24th, but it's again a bit of proof. Like the DDR thing.

13th it is ,no more speculations are needed. Let's just hope it will be good new hardware.

Let's just hope that we get DDR PowerMacs with 1.4GHz Apollo's.

Anyone know what the FSB is expected to be on the new PM? And if the G4's get DDR and a speed bump up to 1.4Ghz. what will that leave the iMac models with? up to 1Ghz?

Yep, it's Amazon UK, and not Amazon US that they're talking about.

The 13th... Let's hope that date will not be one we'll remember as 'one of the times' Appl edissapointed us. So, if they ship the new machines and Jugar then, wouldn't they do it at a Special Event? A DDR Powermac with a 20-40% increaase in speed would be a nice thing to get some press coverage over.

The 13th.. that's only g days away, they for sure would have announced the event by now.

Everything that points to the 13th sounds convencing, and everything that doesnt point there sounds convencing. What to believe?!

    maybe it's a time-zone thing. UK August 13th = US August 24th?

Does anyone know of any event? No. Apple would have announced it for sure by now. I think (as much as I want it to be released in the 13th) we're looking at an August 24th announcement. Even though the 13 is logical, with no event and just a silent update, Apple wouldn't get the press coverage their looking for.

If anyone hears anything about an event, my views would change

Why would they need a massive amount of press coverage? It's just an update to a pre-existing line. Perhaps if it was a new product line, but this is not the case. They can announce an event the preceding day.

for free press coverage which as SJ has said in the past is like free advertising.

Apple doesn't need an event for a Power Mac refresh. DDR Ram and a faster FSB are not worth bringing press into Apple, especially when it exposes how behind Apple is in these technologies.

Also, Apple would not update a product on a Saturday. Talk about getting NO PRESS!

Right. And historically Tuesdays are the days that apple likes to refresh/release hardware, while operating systems are done on Saturdays.

To boost thier advertising dollars during the Switch advertising campaign. Apple needs to get some good press now, especially with the release of OS X 10.2.

Maybe the press already got their invitations and in these invitations stands: "You may speak of this after the great event jada jada jada?" It's that simple.

I am surprised nothing has leaked out affirmatively (yes, actually confirmed) as to whether PowerMacs will be updated on the 13th. This is a very awaited and anticipated update. The new PowerMac will be great most likely, but what excites me is the prospect of 1ghz iMacs and faster eMacs, iBooks, and PowerBooks. Oh yeah, and Gigawire?

News.com has been quiet but from what I hear the specs are all over the board and hard to nail down.

    again, i have to say:

for free press coverage which as SJ has said in the past is like free advertising.

any press they get is free advertising and every product in the world can use that.

plus maybe its not the 13th or 24 and maybe a week day.
