Recommendations On External Firewire Cases

Hi,

I'm currently in the process of buying an external firewire hard-drive case to act as a backup drive for my tiPowerbook runnning Panther.

I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for good cases that have worked well with panther?

I will probably put a drive around 40gb-80gb inside.

Anyways, any help would be great.

Thanks,

Wayne

    Hi

    Don't buy Iomega - they're crap!

If you are just storing data try these:

The Lacie - databank is nice and portable if you want to travel:

However, spending a bit more on an iPod could be a solution and serve as dual purpose too.

    Hope this helps

Errr... I don't think I'd use an iPod as backup. You can get a higher capacity firewire drive cheaper.

I just got the LaCie d2 firewire drive- I love it! Its pretty small too- I got the 120gig for $159 at an apple store. You can get the 80 gig for like $139 I think. It has a 7200RPM drive. Its really cool- you should check it out. I've had good luck with their products. I also have their 52X cd-rw which works great!
