Overmoderating in the Future Hardware forum......

in Future Apple Hardware edited January 2014
My question about the mac pictured in the leaked photos and the new G4 (and the possibility that the photo was of a not-to-distant-future machine) more than belonged in future hardware. Eugene's response about overexposure didn't hold water, neither did his endorsement of the mobo color being "inconsequential". The info posted was a NEW topic, not suitable for posting in an existing thread. If you don't want people to hijack threads, please allow us to keep different questions in different threads. This post specifically refers to FUTURE HARDWARE, so don't give me a load of crap about how it belongs in "General Discussion". If anyone has commentary on my original locked thread:

<a href="http://forums.appleinsider.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=002383"; target="_blank">New G4 compared to the leaked pics of a future machine....</a>

please post your comments here. Maybe this one will go at least 8 hours before it gets locked.

I made it easy! Here's the post:

Am I the only one who noticed that the prototype we all saw (which appeared quite white) is not the machine we now see? The mobo color and other features are just different enough that perhaps this machine is the Yikes V2 that someone else mentioned. What if a white version comes out with the "G5" chip at MWSF? I am suspicious. This would make the new case "visually distinctive" from the brand new one when it appears. Kinda like Gigabit--Quicksilver. Either way, I'm gonna buy one of these new dualies this week....just trying to decide if I want a pimped out Dual 867 or a base model Dual gig. (prolly the later, 'cuase of the bus speed)

I don't really care about motherboard colors, personally, but if you're thinking about buying the new dual 1GHz, Bare Feats may give you pause. Many don't believe the benchmarks, but I do; you may want to check out the thread about it in Current Hardware.

    From the posting guidelines:

[quote]3. All comments about a moderator or an administrator should be directed to the moderator or an administrator (if the member does not feel comfortable dealing directly with the moderator) using private messaging or via e-mail.<hr></blockquote>

[quote]- Due to the high traffic that FH receives, it is preferable to contain discussion of future products to a minimum of threads on a particular topic: there should not be 10 different threads about upcoming PowerBooks, for instance. However, threads discussing particular aspects of a future product can coexist.<hr></blockquote>

First of all, in the future if you have a question about my moderating, you can email me at [email protected] or PM me. I know the boards have been somewhat screwy lately but that is no excuse as my profile link is still available on the main page. I would have been glad to discuss this privately.

Second of all, you claim that this is does not belong in one of the other future tower threads.

At the time that I locked the original thread, there was an appropriate topic for this to go in. That thread degenerated quickly and is now locked as well.

I'm going to reopen the original thread for discussion but I'm renaming it to prevent further confusion.

If you have any future questions or concerns, email or PM me or an administrator such as Amorph or Jonathan. Thanks.

Now as this is not future hardware this thread is going to be locked.
