I download a lot of old time tv shows and anime stuff and Safari can not play all of the formats. Is there a plugin for safari that allows you to play WMV files and AVI files without opening another program. If not what programs will open these files up well.

    MPlayer and VLC are the two prime candidates for standalone programs. MPlayer even does some WMP stuff

    The DivX codec plays many .avi files in an embedded QuickTime player. You can find it here. You can play WMV files in a Windows Media Player 9 embedded player. It is available here. WMP 9 may also play some of your .avi files.
