I just freshly installed Panther and I want itunes to scan my hard drive for my tunes and add them to the library. It asked me when I first launched itunes but i declined but now I need to do it. Can anyone help me so that my songs will be added to the LIbrary?

Thanks a million!

in the advanced menu in iTunes, hit consolidate lubrary, that should do it.

That does not seem to do anything. I have my old itunes library in the music folder but consolidating it doesnt do anything.

Consolidating the library only takes files that iTunes already knows about and puts them all in the Music folder.

I'd say remove iTunes and reinstall it. That's the quickest and easiest way.

Assuming all your tunes are under a single folder hierarchy:

drag and drop the root folder into an open iTunes window.

Make sure you have your preferences set up correctly to auto-manage the files. If you don't want to deal with deleting the originals after iTunes duplicates everything then put the files inside your designated iTunes library folder first and it will simply move them.

Ah That did it. Dropping the Itunes folder in to itunes. Thanks!
