YourDailyMac has posted this image of what they believe to be the new LCD iMac. I don't buy it.

I don't like it that much. I doubt it's the real thing.

The "picture" isn't good enough to see anything, however, the form factor could work if the base was a great deal thicker and looked some what like the old Performas. A boxy base for the CPU/media drive and the LCD hinged to the back or centered. But to my mind that is nothing more than a oversized laptop.

Original Source of Picture is Applele.

Yea i thought I had seen somethinglike that before. Unless apple decided to make it look like that they got a fake photo

They're posting this one until Apple legal looks away...

Then they'll post the real thing.

the photo total contradicts what they posted yesterday as:

"(12/13/01) News from the inside on the LCD iMac

We got another email from our source at Apple and we are very excited now about this new product. So go ahead and read the letter below:

Went to a meeting this Monday and 2 machines were demoed. I have never seen them or anything like them before this. One was an iMac. With an LCD screen and a G4. We couldn't crack it open so that's about all I know of the specs. But I can tell you it was white like the iBook and

non-curvy. More boxy than the present iMac. It reminded me of the 20th ann. Mac but without the vertically mounted CD drive and the speakers were not mounted to the sides of the screen. It didn't look like the 15" ACD."

does that describe the photo of basically a power book--grey metal and folded, not upright like a 20th anniversary mac...and not white like the ibook...hopefully they will post the real photo later today if they have any....g

right pscates, they took your idea for yesterdays post and then took a photo from applele for todays post...the problem is your idea and the photo don't match...so you have to ask of the people at yourdailymac, will the new imac look like a modified/imacafied TAM or like a powerbook?..g

or like an Apple Studio display??

I wasn't saying they "took my idea" or that I influenced anything or anyone. I don't act that way.

I was merely commenting on how they were talking about the TAM angle and I linked to where I posted similiar thoughts/ideas several days ago.

Just making a connection/link between the two, that's all.

    That's all.

pscates....didn't mean "right, pscates" like in,

"ohh, riggghhhtt, pscates"--with heavy sarcasm....meant it as you are correct, they are mimicking your post or using your post or came to the same thoughts as you....not meaning to offend or strike a nerve....g

I agree with PB G3. It looks like it was from Applele (www.applele.com). Of course the site owner,Isamu Sanada has always specifically said that all of the mock ups are his own invention. (his current mock up imacs look much better).

I actually like his Hipod PDA, ..... I would go for something like that in a flash to save me from carrying my palm and an iPod. Only thing is that i would need a wired remote/headphones with a led so that I did not need to open it to control the iPod music function.

    cheers

That's almost two years old. It was a mockup for the PowerBook G4.

    Oh, okay...cool!

I couldn't tell which angle you were taking, and read your comments about 8 times before I posted my reaction.

    I rolled the dice.

    Thanks for the clarification...no problem!

    Sigh...

Again, I'm not saying I was the first to hit on anything (or that design in particular).

My "ahem..." was less gloating or thinking I'm extra cool than simply pointing out "hey, a bunch of us here have been talking about the TAM angle for 3 or 4 days now...".

I was the first to bust YourDailyMac on the iMac pic yesterday on one of the other threads. I tried to email them to tell them people will know the pic is BS but the email got bounced.

    Oh well, I tired.
