Panther Bug - Ugly sliding thingy

Not a big deal, and I think this was the first time this happened to me ever, but it wouldn't go away for a bit.

I have seen it happen before. Do you have ShapeShifter or Demetalifizer installed? One of the two has caused this for me before, but only in Finder. I know in the shot you're not using a theme, but I ask because when Unsanity was first dealing with getting the metal out of the new Finder, the last thing they could get to work was that strip right there. I haven't had it happen to me in quite a while though.

I did at one point but I uninstalled it because...well I like the way my system looks. Like I said though, it's not a reoccurring problem or anything.

I've seen this before and I don't have any haxies installed. Not sure if I've seen it since I installed 10.3.2.

    Ditto.

The one I see more often is hanger on sidebar tags.

Note that not only is the cursor not over the Document folder, but Finder isn't even active - Safari is.

The bug I witness the most is wierd buffering with the text shadows on files on the desktop. I don't know when they happen, but they do happen often: the shadows look pixelated, with strange lines sperateing the tones of shadow.

After I "select all" and click on the desktop, it returns to normal.

You know, it took me almost 3 min to figure out how you were getting those name bubbles. I never knew you could do that... I mean I never tried but that's a nice feature.

That happens to me all the time. I hope it is something that is fixed fairly soon. I am an anal retentive person and that type of stuff just bugs me.

I have also experienced the issue with the separator. It doesn't happen often though.

I don't know if this counts, but when I start up the mac, all the icons in the bar at the top appear first (floating) before the bar actually comes and swings down...

i don't understand why some navigation services windows allow for resizing of their columns, while others don't. is this the software developer's fault, or is it the finder sometimes forgetting that it should allow for column resizing.

plus, i know you can put anything in the sidebar -- even apps -- but if they are not useful in the current context (like you can't launch a sidebar app while in the open/save dialog window), then they should either not appear or be 50% screened back.

Guys, can you please stop trying to post PDFs using the <img> tags? It's a right pain in the arse having to right click on each one, download it to disk and open in preview. It's not as if converting it to PNG before you upload is particularly hard...

... and Internet Explorer renders pages correctly even when they are coded in barf. Just because one browser may do something doesn't mean others will. I don't post any "PDF images" online without first converting them to raster, but thats just me.

As for the Ugly sliding thingy yes, I've had this problem _several_ times today. While working with files on my iPod in column view eventually that divider will turn white and trashed up. Happened on two Panther machines, one with haxies one without. I doubt they have anything to do with it but who knows.

Along with that while renaming files that contain very tall images (think VHS box shots) they would duplicate themselves.

Before I rename it looks like this:

    and after renaming the file:

Other then these two bugs, and the random Finder crash when dragging 2 or more items into any app Panther has been ok. \
