i need to grab a sound bite from a DVD playing on my computer. Does anyone know of software (preferably shareware) that captures audio as it is playing? Or streaming?

Audio Hijack is very good for that.
Wiretap also works very well but I haven't been able to get it to install since I upgraded to 10.3

Wiretap works fine for me on 10.3. It also comes bundled with Snapz Pro X 2.

No.
Why do you care?
