Does anyone know what the POS software used by the Apple stores is? Any information would be appreciated.

It's Apple's own software. They don't sell it to the public.

Apple can be so f*cking stupid at times. Selling the POS software that they use in their stores would be a great way to get themselves into the hands of small businesses.

    Apple's business strategy is pathetic.

Exactly - I thought it was custom. Do you know if it interfaces with Web Objects at all? A friend of mine has a store - he uses all Macs, but his POS software is somewhat mediocre - he's looking for something better.

funny, i thought in the beginning it was filemaker (in fact, i could almost swear i read that somewhere). perhaps "POS" is just a customized runtime version of filemaker?

It is not FileMaker, but a custom Java app by http://www.360commerce.com

Read more about it at http://www.macintouch.com/appleretail2.html

What a simple google search can provide.

Maybe the reason that Apple doesn't sell it is because it's a POS.

    What, because it's Java?
