Resurrection is a common metaphysical theme these days.

Dawn of the Dead kicked ASS. Watched it on Friday in a packed theater. We laughed, cheered, our wives/girlfriends hid their eyes. Perfect date movie.

Down with the Canadian film industry. Give me Sarah Polley.

How many "Day of the Dead" / "Dawn of the Dead" / "Night of the Living Dead" / "The Dead Will Eat Your Punk Ass, beyotch!" movies do we really need? It's the same shite over and over with different special effects.

Oooo. I'm sure it ranks in quality right up there with Scooby Doo 2.

The fact that it takes place in Wisconnson is all I need.

Uh.. yeah. I could say the same thing about a few other types of movies too. See the other movies in the listings right now? Watch one of those.

Oh don't get me wrong Murbot: I know the list is LONG... I'm just adding this one to the fore-front since it's getting the attention currently.

Compares very nicely... it's no Slapshot 2, that's for sure.

Wait, that was a sequel... well, you know what I mean. Wait, it's hockey, you won't... uh, get Moogs to explain it.

I love zombie movies and I am glad they are back.

28 Days Later did for zombie flicks what Scream did for slasher flicks, speed. Zombies and slashers used to be slow, now they run like hell and attack, it is awesome.

I cannot wait to see the new Dawn of the Dead.

    Zombie movies kick ass.

Me too but I love zombie movies.

In Dawn of the Dead the zombies are on screen.

In Passion, they are in the audience.

    I digress!

    Really . . . . good question, bad memories . .

Does the new one have that extra-special-nuclear-level gore that the original had?

I remember heads being blown off with shotguns, and intestines chewed and pulled in tug-a-wars, and the top of a head being whacked by hellicopter blades . . .i mean . . how can you beat that?!

Of course, 28 Days Later was a bioterror movie, not a zombie movie, but what the hell... most people think otherwise.

(The victims never actually *died* - they were just mindless rampaging beasts that couldn't feel pain and kept going basically no matter what. Zombies kind of rely on the whole die-first-come-back schtick.)
