iChat AV on old iBook

My wife gave her old iBook G3 500 to her sister along with an iSight. Her sister tried to connect up the iSight and it said that the computer does not support video conferencing. iChat AV says that it must you must have a G3 600 minimum. Does anyone know of a work around for this? We would like to do video chatting with her but are not willing to send up a faster computer.

    XLR 8YouMac indicates that iChatUSBCam allows G3s to use iChatAV with an iSight (or a Firewire video camera).

    Thanks, we tried using the firewire camera with the iChatusbcam and it did not work. She is going to get a usb camera and hopefully that will work.

    I use a Firewire camera (Cannon) with a iBook 466 and iChatUSBcam.



    works just fine, although a little choppy.
