I am getting my CCNA for free via my highschool. I too would like to know what kind of jobs this can help me get. It is just a cert so I don't think it will amount to much...
I just started this course 2 days ago. It is interesting but than again I jumped right in to the second course. (I'm studying like mad to take first course's final in a just a few days)
I have a CCNA. Generally speaking, Cisco's certifications are worth the most in the industry, but the one you really want (and very, very hard to get) is the CCIE.
If you're smart, you can get the CCNA with a solid weekend of study with the right materials. It's a multiple choice exam, fast paced but good logic/etc applies.
I wouldn't necessarily hire anyone based on the credential (I'm out of the networking industry now) but I would consider it as a valid credential for a beginner trying to crack into an entry level job.
