I assume by HD you mean High Definition, not hard drive. Is this something like the AJA Io box but rather than uncompressed SD, it supports Hi Def? FireWire 800? Uncompressed HD? Can't wait 'til the 18th.

Whew...I was starting to think there wouldn't be ANY "prediction threads" in Future Hardware. Thanks for restoring my faith, Kormac!

Those other 211 I currently see are apparently hallucinations on my part.

Oh well, I'm off to start a thread in Current Hardware about the new eMac released today. Surely no one else has beaten me to it?

Well FCP 5 sounds interesting. I've certainly heard hinting re: a new NAB product for FCP users. It seems a tad strange though, seeing as FCP 4 hasn't been out very long. Maybe FCP 4.5 w/ HD support?

As far as a Final Effect Pro happening, it seems odd. FCP itself is designed to handle basic effects creation. Plus it would really anger Adobe.

And this thread is different from this in what way?

That would be big news. I know of some post houses that are interested in switching to FCP, but would need a solution similar to Avid Unity.

Well, it's about time old man. Haven't heard from you since the locked threads a month or so ago. And seeing as how Glenn Bulycz, Apple's Senior Manager of Quicktime Marketing is going to be there April 20th for the "New Technologies for Digital Media" presentation, it should be interesting...

I wonder if Quicktime 7 will allow streaming in its own royalty-free format as well as MPEG 4?

I know Apple is all about standards these days, but since MPEG 4 added the royalties, its buzz seems to have cooled considerably.

Hey, I'll cry for kormac77! But not for that other guy in Mel's movie.

Ok, ok, ok... I surrender to the PC police. Take me away!

Back on topic: kormac77: I'd still be happy to offer you a beer. But now you'll have to collect it in DC instead of NYC. Do you know anything about the PowerBook and iBook announcements next week? The 12-inch PowerBook is what I am really interested in. (I have no use for DV/HD software and hardware predicted for NAB 2004.)
