I assume by HD you mean High Definition, not hard drive. Is this something like the AJA Io box but rather than uncompressed SD, it supports Hi Def? FireWire 800? Uncompressed HD? Can't wait 'til the 18th.
Well FCP 5 sounds interesting. I've certainly heard hinting re: a new NAB product for FCP users. It seems a tad strange though, seeing as FCP 4 hasn't been out very long. Maybe FCP 4.5 w/ HD support?
As far as a Final Effect Pro happening, it seems odd. FCP itself is designed to handle basic effects creation. Plus it would really anger Adobe.

That would be big news. I know of some post houses that are interested in switching to FCP, but would need a solution similar to Avid Unity.
