I turned on my powerbook today and it said, " calculating to full." Its been 2 hrs and it still says it. Now the ichat icon from my friend is screwed up. Is it a virus? I doubt it since macs are practicly immune to viruses.

Actually, I don't think that these symptoms are related to each other. I'm not sure about possible reasons for them, but these are totally different areas.
It'd be pretty surprising to see a messed up iChat icon and a non-working power display icon being caused by the same problem.
Thanks for the help. I figured it out. I just unplugged it, wait intill the battery went to 90% and began to recharge it. That fixed it right up. The ichat image was the persons mistake which he fixed.
Mac laptops won't recharge when the battery life is greater than 95% to avoid wasting a cycle. However, the battery life inidcator seems to have issues with this.
I knew that there was a spell checker in safari. Most of my posts are on my powermac G4( 1st gen.) which has problems with safari. So I use explorer. Also, I'm just to lazy to do it. But, if you would make you happy I'll do it more often.

Sometimes the virus enters the system between the chair and the keyboard.

Now it is stuck on charging even though the percentage is at 100%.This computer is confusing me.
There is a sticky at the top of this forum that tells you how to reset your power manager. Do it.

There is NO DOUBT in my mind that this is the case in this situation.
That dude still hasn't figured out that Safari has a built in spell checker.
And do what torifile said...reset the PMU.
