Griffin iTalk Microphone

Just got my iTalk today, along with a SightLight for my iSight.

Now, I have to admid that I had higher expectations on the iTalk. It does not fit perfectly on the iPod and the sound quality is horrendous . The speaker picks up interference noises from the iPod's harddisk

Do you have similar experiences? Is the Belkin microphone any better?

Cheers,

    not going to happen.

apple seems to have a policy of getting people like belkin and griffin to build add-ons for them. that way they just invest/develop/market the core device.

There is a jack for an external mic. I haven't tried this out yet, the cables would be a hassle.

I think the poor audio quality is because Apple decided to go for 16 bit audio. Would it be possible to upgrade this with a firmware upgrade?
