Mac Help quits

using 10.3.3, mac help instantly quits after launching under finder.



if launched from any other application, it quits upon entering a search.



and i tried trashing the home>library>cache>help folder, which fixed it, for all of like 2 minutes before it broke again.

    Try trashing these files:



    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.help.plist

    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.helpui.plist

    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.helpviewer.plist



    ~ being your Home directory.

    i've done that as well. no change.

    Does Safari work or does it crash also? Have you changed or added fonts?



    I went from OS 9 to Panther and had problems with Help and Safari. I had a font conflict. Once I found the affected fonts and deselected them, everything worked fine.

    safari works fine, but yes, i have added lots of fonts.
