I own a 1.8 Dual PowerMac and am monitoring the operating temperature. On cold boot, it usually starts at 89 degrees and then while under normal use idels around 127 degrees F.

I was curious if anyone knew what the normal range was for this computer as this seems a little warm...

Thanks!

edit: Specs... Dual 1.8 G5, 2GB RAM, Apps Running: AIM, Safari, Mail, Calander, iTunes (playing AACs) that's it...

That's prolly about right. My PB has been on for about an hour (idling) and its upto about 105F

Edit: Hmm some specs would help put this into context. Its a 1.25Ghz G4. 512Mb RAM. Just mail and safari running.

I ran across an App thats interesting. it was mentioned here in one of the forums. ThermographX works well with the G5, and some G4s and I believe most G3s. It is a $7 shareware, but you can try it for free. worth a look.
