Five pages of all the juicy rumors you care to hear about. The general buzz is that the refresh will occur on Wednesday, the 23rd. However, no one truly knows anything.

When will people learn that Apple upgrades their lines ever 6 to 9 months. That still leaves a lot of time for the PowerBook series, and even more time for the iBook.

It's just a cycle that doesn't end till Apple actually announces them. The next "keep your hopes way higher than they should be" date is the first week of November as reported by another rumor site.

I should mention that, fed up with waiting, I bought a Ti800 last Sunday, and it shipped on Wednesday. It's a really great computer (I think it's the best thing I've ever purchased), and I can't imagine how fast the next Ti's will be. I hope Apple releases a new model within the next week so that I can reap the benefits with those 10-day rebates.

If a product is updated within 10 days of your buying it (or receiving it?), you will get a rebate or something. I read it on Apple's site.

It's way past Oct 15th now, time for a new thread on the subject of powerbooks.

I think that there is a good chance that we will get a speed bump sometime soon, but I don't think it will be enough to make me trade in my current 800Mhz PowerBook. Although if it really has some nifty new features, like a tray loading superdrive, I just might change my mind...

    <a href="http://store.apple.com/Catalog/US/Images/salespolicies.html"; target="_blank">Sales and Refunds Policy</a>

[quote]Should Apple reduce its price on any shipped product within 10 calendar days of shipment, you may contact Apple Sales Support at 1-800-676-2775 to request a refund or credit of the difference between the price you were charged and the current selling price.Â* To receive the refund or credit you must contact Apple within 14 business days of shipment. <hr></blockquote>

The link is at the very bottom of the Apple Store front page.

    There is also this:

[quote]If you are not satisfied with your Apple purchase of a pre-built product, please call 1-800-676-2775 for a Return Material Authorization (RMA) request within 10 business days of the receipt of the product. If the item is returned unopened in the original box, we will exchange it or offer you a refund based on your original method of payment. The product must be returned to the Apple warehouse within 10 business days of the issuance of the RMA. All products must be packed in the original, unmarked packaging including any accessories, manuals, documentation and registration that shipped with the product. A 10% open box fee will be assessed on any opened hardware or accessory.<hr></blockquote>

So if you were to order a new 800 MHz TiBook and it was updated while in transit, you could send it right back for a new one.

Is there a MacWorld Expo UK is just around the corner? Perhaps some new hardware will be announced there. <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />
