What's least likely from Apple in the next year or so?

Well, there are thousands of pointless (IMO) threads about xPods, PB G5's, mini iMac's, and many other things. Which, in your opinion, is least likely in the next year, give or take a few months?

I honestly don't think any of these are likely, but I think an xPod is the least likely from this list.

I'm convinced that the cube -- as we knew it -- will NEVER be produced by Apple again.

Something I heard at the weekend

Apple will introduce central music service/server for the home. Will be a plug and play hi-fi CD/DVD/HD system - with phone connection to iTunes store - for buying music etc.

It will integrate with other Apple computers through Airport and will allow users to access the music server with mini iBox's (a control system and speakers?). You'll be able to hook up ipod(s) - brows and organise music through the TV.

    Apple iTunes server $699.00

    iBox music station $299.00

Oh yeah - *NEW*iPod 4 ( with airport built in to access Apple iTunes home server)...

    At those prices it's DOA.

    Wireless is too expensive.

The competition is half that price.

I don't see Apple coming out with a DLD Home Server

this year. I still think we're a bit aways from

seeing a device which exudes as much quality as

    the iPod.

    Least likely?

    An Apple branded handgun.

iTunes server should be software running on the Hub (Mac) like the device/software from Slim Devices, which is controlled by and streams to the iBox. That solution brings you down to $299 or less, which will work. However since it won't need a hard drive or other storage devices $199 would be a better price to shoot for, and they would sell very well. This would also help to solidify Apple's dominance in on-line music delivery.

This is what I love about this news group. We can still make good fun of the leftest leaning leadership at Apple while waiting for them to deliver product to keep the company afloat.

    Thanks

I think Powerbook G5 or certainly a dual core G4 by next year.

A bigger capacity iPod. But the with iPod mini leading the way in miniaturisation then the iPod senior may have an identity crisis.

An iPod Mini gives the average jogger, on the road person as much music as they need with a few gigs.

This leaves the door open for an iPod with?? Bigger hard drives, a colour screen for viewing Photos on? Controlling a digital hub device? Steve Jobs says no confusion. It's the music stupid.

So we're left with small and big/small for the iPod range.

Instead, I more likely see an xPod that will bring the video/digital hub pod we're after. An iPhoto/iDVD device that will test movie clips/footage...for pros on the go and view/store photos. It still won't be big enough to edit iMovies on. heh. It will be a viewing device. A screen big enough to see iCal diaries in colour.

A PDA or a PLD Personal Lifestyle Device. They could even hook in some phone capability. I could gig talking to a videoPod brick.

A bit of Newton capability in there.

Knowing Apple. It's going to be a different device that builds on the Apple 'cool' and the iPod brand. I see this expansion more and more for Apple in the coming years.

But they've got to get the next DLD dead right. Or they'll kill their Apple into Consumer Electronics momentum.

PowerMacs. Dual Core next year. Otherwise we could be well behind an Intel equivalent.

    iMac. G5 by next year.

iBook. 2 gig G4 by next year.

    eMac. G5 by next year.

    'X' on 10.5 next year.

X-Serve on 3 gig by next year.

Will we see Apple advertise next year?

    Nope.

I don't see the poncy Cube returning. But a less 'up itself' version. Certainly.

An iMac to Go Go. A Cube Shuttle with a handle.

    Bit like a game cube.

    All white. Platinium handle.

    G5.

    Gorgeous. Quality onboard graphics.

    Cheap?

    Well. In my dreams.

Judging from the curve of the Apple gun's clip and the grip I'd say the bullets are right, just the opening shape itself is backwards, no?

I always thought that Smith and Wesson's snub nose .38" was the Dell.

Clock, I thought was like the Sony.

Yeah, the load ramp on the magazine is backwards...

But the more significant problem, from an operational point of view, is the total lack of trigger mechanism...

And from a 3d Geek perspective, the foremost bullet is clipping on the groundplane...
