Sure and guess what the shareware version of VueScan doesn't run on the PPC G6 or G7 either. <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />

    Ladies and Gentlemen,

I would like to emphasize that this has nothing to do with the B-3 bomber. There's no truth to the rumour that the B3 bomber will be implemented ahead of schedule.

    Thank you.

What on earth is the point of Hamrick's bumbling? He's either trying to piss Apple off and mislead their customers or get his fifteen minutes of fame; but either way he's screwing himself.

    The way I see it...

How can any of us make a solid conclusion about this guy or the 'evidence' he has provided?

He's either tested or knows someone who has tested the software on a G5 or he's not. There's no way to tell.

I think it's a hint that we might see a G5 soon. But nothing like 'confirmation' or 'evidence'.

It won't run on a G5. Seriously. They don't exist yet.

Unleaded gasoline will not work in a 2022 Jeep Cherokke either.

Oh come on this is a joke and it is hilarious.

Apple will not care a hoot, they have got a sense of humour too.

Even if he has access to a G5 prototype for testing it does not necessarily mean that the G5 will be released at MWSF.

Apple extended the display+G4 offer till the end of January so that they could announce the G5 at MWSF. This would make the transition to the G5 a little smoother. Apple might just intro the G5 at SF and make it ready for the 1st of Feb...

There is no doubt the G5 is near...

    Bye,

Of course Apple Could easily seed their new machines to relatively unknown companies so they can test without hawks like you guys combing the internet and finding leeked info

AS easily. apple giving a secret prototype to a no-name company, makes sense and it doesn't(like everything eh?)

on one side, they do it becuase then less people will come across that company, safer

on the other side, an unknown company also doesn't have as much to lose leeking info, no safe at all

perhaps this guy is keen on the apple rumours going about and said not compatible with the g5 because he plans on stopping the product by the time the g5 comes out, or likewise but he's just keen to **** with us.

Well according to him, he gets a lot of email from mac faithful asking about his software. So maybe he got a lot of email about his software from the beta G5 testers asking about his software and it's apparent lack of compatibility?

IF this is legit, this is the most likely scenario. If he had found out, via a beta tester, that his software was incompatible with the G5 in some way, all he would be able to do would be to disable it at this point. If he had his own G5 machine, he would have the wherewithall to fix the problem.

Again assuming he's not just jerking us around, I suspect he posted the notice on the website to deliberately stick a thumb in Apple's eye after their dust-up last August. If he has no test equipment, then he's under no NDA, so Apple has no legal stick over him. He's probably "making no further comment" because he knows absolutely nothing about G5s other than that somebody told him his software doesnt' run properly on it.

And there's still the possiblity that he put that notice on there just to fan rumor flames, boost site traffic, and piss off Apple at the same time (on the off chance that there really is a G5 coming soon).

We'll all know in another couple weeks. Meanwhile, let's all remember that very few people in the world REALLY know what's going on, and everyone else (including 99.9% of AIs) is just guessing. Try not to take all of this too seriously.
