Huge "problem" for me

I guess this is a good problem to have, but I'm getting a Powerbook and G5 this summer and can't decide how to purchase everything. It will all be under an edu discount, so I HAVE to buy one before June 30 and one after, to fall within the edu terms and conditions. WWDC falls around then.

In a previous thread, I said I wanted to buy the Pbook with the display I'll be using on the Pmac so that my Applecare for the Pbook will apply to the display too. I don't want Applecare for the Pmac, so that option is out. Now, IF apple releases new displays and Power Macs at the beginning of WWDC, I would be ok and buy the Pmac before June 30th, then a couple days later buy the Pbook with a newly rev-ed 20 incher. If Apple doesn't update displays at WWDC OR waits til the end, then I would be screwed.

On the other hand, I could use a Pbook now. The problem for me is that I need to have applecare on my Pbook, but I don't want to "waste" the 250 bucks or whatever for Applecare on the G5, cause I'll treat it like a newborn child when it arrives (yes, that does include breast-feeding). If I bought the Pbook and display NOW though, I would be too low on cash to get the G5 when it is released, and I'll need it before summer's end so it's not like I can wait a month after release to order.

So, if any of this made sense to you, hook me up with your advice.

Thanks,

ipod

The scant news that has come out so far on the display front indicates that inventories are still "fat."

I don't think there will be a display revision before or at WWDC. They might release a rumored 30" display as an addition to what's offered currently, but I don't see them doing anything to the rest of the line other than maybe dropping them a few bucks if the big boy comes out.
