yes it definitely does help, it's really good for multi users. now that you mention it, i should prolly go pick up a 250 FW...

Exactly what hyperb0le said, this wouldn't be good for iPods. It's why they warned you shouldn't make it a boot volume. But I guess it would spin less if it was the Home folder but not Boot volume?

the HD will be spinning whenever you plug it into a mac though kevin...way too much wear and tear on the HD

On the other hand, maybe with 10.4, the iPod doesn't spin all the time in target disk mode.

98.78 GB home folder, with 82 GB of music in there
