lombard/pismo battery...dead forever?

hello --



i recently purchased a used lombard and the battery seems to be completely worthless. if i start up the computer with A/C plugged in, it does not recognize the expansion bay as even containing a battery. if i push the little button on the battery, nothing lights up. this battery is completely toast, beyond any help, right?

    i, uh, didn't have the power adapter plugged in (/me hangs head in shame). it was drawing juice from the battery in the other bay. so, the battery i thought was funky works fine. so, move on, nothing to see here
