Mac Bidouille has apparently seen some accidentally posted images. They have this to say:

:Apple released new Powermac G5s. 3 new models :

Dual G5 1.8 GHz - 900 MHz frontbus per processor - NVidia GeForce FX 5200 Ultra - 3 PCI ports.

    Dual G5 2 GHz - 1 GHz frontbus per processor - NVidia GeForce FX 5200 Ultra - 3 PCI-X ports.

    Dual G5 2,5 GHz - 1.25 GHz frontbus per processor - ATI Radeon 9600 XT - 3 PCI-X ports.

The CPUs use a Watercooling system !

The three machines have a Superdrive 8x. Swiss prices are : 3.099 CHF, 3.899 and 4.599 : thx to Marc-O for the Swiss store image"

At 8:45 a.m. Eastern time (I'm in Seoul, though), the dual 2.5's are showing at $2999; dual 2.0 $2499; dual 1.8 $1999. Not bad.

Yup... the refresh was just as I expected.

I hoped there would be better middle model (like a dual 2.2) but them's the breaks. Good upgrade though.

They know that we know about Tuesdays! Wednesdays are now the day to watch.

A solid, if not firebreathing, update.

The Dual 2.5s seem to require liquid cooling... sounds like they have a few heat issues...

They are up here, too. The pictures look NOTHING like the supposed leaked Service Manual pictures.

WHOA ! Dual's acrossed the board. I'll take that woot and give it a WOOT-TANG !

Pretty close though on the pictures, they are just more like the ones we have now. Maybe another update in the fall?

Well, the dual 1.8 now has the added features of:

    4 Gig RAM maximum.

    No PCI-X.

    256Mb RAM as Standard.

A 80 Gig HAD instead of 160 Gig.

    ... basically a 1.6 G5 board with another processor.

The Dual 2 Ghz has a worse graphics card than the previous generation...!

IMHO, the water-cooling on the 2.5 is the only saving grace...

should have bought the dual 2 ghz for $500 more dollars 1 year ago...

Damnit, i hope i can afford the 2.5, otherwise this waiting has all gone to waste.

As usual, it would appear Apple's mid-range machine is the best buy.

Perhaps the leaked pictures reflect the liquid-cooled 2.5 GHz Power Mac G5? The 1.8 and 2.0 GHz models aren't liquid cooled, and probably look like the current G5s which are pictured.
