I don't think anyone should criticize you, its interesting

Besides, its a very short period of time to keep guessing. But I'm kinda confused by what they're saying. Is something going to happen on Monday or will we have to wait 10 days?

Maybe Monday Apple will announce that they're having a press event in 10 days? hmmmm....the thlot pickens.

I just realized something....10 days after Monday is Thanksgiving.

Maybe whatever it is will be available the day after Thanksgiving....the busiest shopping day of the year.

Here an idea...did you delete the emails? Take a look at the headers in the emails and see where they're coming from. You should be able to get the IP address of the computer where they sent the email. If its Cupertino you might be in luck....but if its Fargo North Dakota.....

how do you figure out the location?

I think the IP is 216.136.224.70

I did a traceroute and San Jose came up but I think that's where Yahoo mail is

Yeah, that IP is yahoo. If you want to find out who owns the IP you should do this in the terminal:

    nslookup 216.136.224.70

It shows it as being Yahoo.

If you look at the "full" headers for an email there should be 2 places where it says "from". One will show where your mail server received it from and one will show where the sender mail server received it from.

    Example:

My bro just sent me an email from his .mac account. It shows the IP of the .mac mail server as well as his Comcast IP address.

But now that I think about....maybe since Yahoo mail is web based and not POP3 it doesn't show the senders IP. Dammit!! Oh well, if you see any other IPs in the headers you might as well check em out with nslookup.

Ok, I just checked.....Yahoo Mail does send the IP address!!

    Look at this:

    [code] Received: (qmail 39822 invoked by uid 110); 13 Nov 2002 23:18:11 -0000

    Received: (qmail 39820 invoked from network); 13 Nov 2002 23:18:11 -0000

    Received: from unknown (HELO web10201.mail.yahoo.com) (216.136.130.65) by node1.hosting-network.com with SMTP; 13 Nov 2002 23:18:11 -0000

Received: from [9.9.9.9] by web10201.mail.yahoo.com via HTTP; Wed, 13 Nov 2002 15:15:44 PST

See that last received line where it says 9.9.9.9? Thats the IP address that the email was sent from. Its not really 9.9.9.9 I just changed so my brother wouldn't get anyone trying to bomb his IP...but you get the idea. So look for that in the email and see what you find.

That would be from the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) in Washington DC. Did a Visual Route to confirm it. Got any friends in the military working on a Sun box?

Lynetta is Lynetta Carson and from her domain (na.amedd.army.mil) it looks like she is at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington DC.

I like Eugene's idea that Applenut from the future is emailing him. Perhaps to warn of impending danger, like something from Apple will endanger the whole world and it's up to Applenut to bust us out of the matrix to save us all, all emailed from a secret military base so that no one else would panic. It's all up to you now, Applenut, we're counting on you ...

Why don't you just e-mail her back and ask why she is sending these messages.

    My guess,...

Lynnetta Carter has a son who likes to surf the internet with his mom's laptop.

He's into Mac's and being in 9th grade is studying Shakespear in freshman English & American Literature class.
