    That third one should read:

    "Redmond, YOU have a problem."

I must admint though, that XBOX version takes the cake.

    Oi!

Does anyone else get the impression that this is a lot like sticking one's head in the lion's mouth and then flicking his love-spuds with a wet towel?

Heh, gotta like 'em though. Pretty ballsey.

Double post ? Oh well... I might as well use it.

Let's just hope that Tiger lives up to the advertising. This is the sort of ads Apple need at the moment.

Now, we wait for the unveiling... m.

Meaning if they piss off Microsoft too much, Redmond might pull an Adobe.

(Hm, that's not much clearer... )

Redmond = City in Washington state where Microsoft is headquartered.

Synonymous with Microsoft. In fact, if you want to say "Microsoft" without using the word "Microsoft", you say "Redmond", so they can't sue you.

Same as how Cupertino or 1 Infinite Loop practically means "Apple".

Oh yeah baby. This is the kind of thing that used to cause a certain 133t gamer nerd college dorm-mate to crash-wrestle me to the floor and not let me up till I said "Macs suck", back in freshman year. Better send in for that Office 2004 upgrade fast.

But seriously, the Office:Mac team have been pretty good to us, no? Office '04 is reportedly missing some of the Windows feature set, but other than that, I thought there was some genuine commitment there, what with the early release and all.

Come to think of it, Apple already has a slick competitor to PowerPoint and arguably a halfway decent solution on the Entourage front as well inbuilt to the OS. But is it cost effective for them to sink development money into Excel- and Word-killer software, particularly when Word is programmed to do practically everything except toilet-train your pets? (I swear, every time I switch Word on I think it's gaining self-awareness, SkyNet style. I had a copy that mysteriously ate up every free clock cycle computing SOMETHING, no matter what I was doing.)

I have a feeling Apple is going too far with that.
