steve wozniak on MWSF - could it be a hint to new HW?

    I would rather apple release the PowerMac 970 at the current price points. No one can afford a 10k computer right now. I do, however, agree that something big is coming this MWSF. But don't get your hopes to high. I'll be happy with 1.5Ghz Powermacs with 200mhz bus's and upgraded iMacs.

    Has anyone thought that Woz might be doing this because he is a little short on cash... working the extra job so he can buy little Timmy a new iPod?

    I'd like to point out that the Mac was introduced in 1984, and the project started in 1979.



    Apple will be 25 and change up until what, April Fools?

    as far as i heard woz didn't do much things for apple nowadays but he's still "officially working" at apple and therefor gets his regular money from there - there's really no need for him to try to get some x-tra money...

    Hmm.. I think you're both wrong. Woz is probably still quite well off. He became an instant multi-millionaire (billionaire?) in the early 80s, and (with the exception of some rock concerts he funded) has lived pretty modestly since then. And i'm pretty certian he doesn't work for Apple at all, and hasn't had any official business with them since the mid 80's.

    Just go to woz's web site and read a little. Woz aint hurting for nothing. He's plenty loaded. He shifted gears lately but used to do a lot of work in schools just helping kids get stuff done with computers. Nothing fancy.



    I sent an email to woz once and he sent me a reply. He ****ing rulz.

    While I'm sure he's not exactly hard up, he says on woz.org that he's given most of his money to charity - the $250K achievement award he was about to receive at the time he responded to the letter I read was also going to charity, in full.

    The point is, Jan 2003 is not the 25th anniversay of Apple, The Macintosh or even the PC. Its nothing and Apple isn't going to do any kind of reunion or special edition Mac.
