I'll drink a bud, pabst or guinness any day over any microbrewery bullshit and some friends of mine had me drinking some crazy Brazilian sugar cane alcohol that I wish I could remember the name of. Did my head in just right.
Lagavulin is by far my favorite scotch with Laphroaig coming in a close second.
As far as other liquors, I don't care since i don't drink it much.
It's pretty much Guinness or Lagavulin and nothing else for me.
Liquid cigarette butts. . .
I like scotch too, but I -- unlike the sway of the times -- prefer blended scotches unless I'm at a tasting. With blended scotch, it's pretty much what you pay for is what you get.
But what it's all about for me these days is dark rum. Changes in latitude, changes in attitude. heh.
I've got some great time lapse shots of my week (last week) in Miami drinking Vodka (kettle one) and red bull night after night after night with a group of people from the Hooters International Swimwear Paegent. Everything else is downhill from here.

WHISKEY : ahhh, too hard
WINE : Chateau Yquem, by far!
BEER : Leffe, Guiness, Asahi Super Dry (depends on my mood)

Rum - Captain Morgan (or if it's a mixed drink only night Malibu Coconut)
Whisky - Jack Daniel's
Gin - (can't touch the stuff)
Wine - If I'm buying, something cheap like Wild Irish Rose, or Night Train (which seems to be extinct now)
Beer - Something cheap, usually High Life or Keystone, hate Budweiser though. But I love Heineken and Rolling Rock.
