Deep sleep problems on Albook 1.25 15"

Wondering if anyone else is getting the problem where the fan comes on even when the powerbook is sleeping, and then you can't wake it up, the only way out of it is to do a hard restart or hold the power button down to shut it down. I just re-installed the system (10.3.4) thinking it was some software related stuff but it happened again. What's up?

I have the same 'Book and have not had that problem with it.

However, I used to have that problem with my venerable Pismo, It turned out to be an aging PRAM battery.

If you frequently allow your battery to completely drain, the PRAM battery can malfunction. If I were you, I'd get on the horn with AppleCare before your warranty expires.

Shut down the system. Pull the power cord, remove the battery. Wait 30 minutes or so. Put in the battery, attach the power cord, start up. If the clock and other settings have been changed then the internal Li battery definitely needs replacing.
