Printer Tracking

Ok, So i want users in my office when they print to have a form pop up that will require them to enter informating in before they can print. I also want to record this information in MySQL. The information that i want to track is user ID, project number, pages printed, date printed device printed to.



I have no OSX development expearence so if some one could point me in the correct direction i would appreaciate it. Also on a unrelated topic do i need to be running anti virus on my virtuial PC?

    This is not going to be an easy undertaking. You will need to create your own CUPS modules, and I am not sure how the UI part of things is going to work. Your first stop would be checking out the innards of the CUPS system.



    You might want to check out some commercial packages. 30 seconds on VersionTracker got me this. I am sure that there are other packages out there.
