High Capacity Battery Vs. Apple Battery

Does anybody have any experience with NuPower Li-Ion Batteries?

I have seen claims that they last 30% longer than a standard apple replacement battery for a Titanium Powerbook G4.

So the claims are the last longer and are cheaper. So are there any catches? Do they have shorter lives or any other downside?

I've had one for the last few months. Seems to work as advertised.

Are there similar batteries for the iBook G4? That'd own.

Can you let me know where you purchased this? Additionally, what are other people's experiences using 3rd party batteries instead of Apple's? The cost savings is roughly 30-40 dollars but are there any risks to the system?

    Thanks.

Doesn't look like it... but Apple's stock iBookG4 battery has a 50 watt-hour capacity, which is at least 20% more than any of these NuPower batteries. Plus it's cheaper than any of them, to boot ($130 new from Apple). I'm guessing Newer doesn't see much room for a competitor.

    Excellent points, thanks.

I'll guess I'll have to play satisfied until something better comes around. :-)

how about an external ibook 12' battery charger (newest ibook revision)? Then I could just buy a couple extra batteries and be on power forever ;-)
