What Text Format for Notes?

in iPod + iTunes + AppleTV edited January 2014
I read that i can put text files in the notes folder but no idea what format and how to save in that format so i can read it fine in the ipod. I put in there .rtfs .text and .html but they all come out wired.



Can someone help? Sorry if this has been asked before.



By the way got my 40GB today and it's my 1st iPod and enjoying it very much. No HD sound in headphones for me so i'm all good :-)

    make sure the file is plain text and saved as a .txt file -- works fine on my 3g ipod.

    Hey i'm new to the ipod and still learning could anyone tell me how to turn the ipod right off? I mean i hold down play/pause now and it goes off but as soon as i go to turn it back on it's right there still paused with the song i last played...doesn't this drain the battery down to keep the song/songs in memory?



    Is there a way to turn it off completely?
