I actually own a L2335, absolutely gorgeous. They are aequivalent to Apple 23" but have more options (not only DVI but VGA, S-Video etc. PiP ... what ever you want)
Does anybody think it is stupid that apple dont produce cheapish lcd monitors for the non lottry winners of us? they are missing out on a market share of medium end users

Apple's low-end (eMac) and medium-end (iMac) desktops already come with monitors - built-in, in fact. Apple's LCDs are intended as accessories for PowerMacG5s and PowerBooks; high-end monitors for high-end systems. C'est la vie. That's what third-parties are for. I like Samsung's mid-range screens. I almost picked up a 712N (17", bright, fast refresh) for $450 before I decided to spend the money on food instead.
Edit: Nevermind the 712N, a 17" LCD won't do 1600x1200 . If you need that high a resolution on the cheap, CRT is your only bet.
