Maximum number of mails in one folder? [Mail]

Hello.

I am using the default e-mail program "Mail" in Mac OS X 10.3.5.

I subscribed to the freeBSD mailing list a few days ago. The mails comes at a pace of about 50 mails per day. Just wondering if there is a limit in the number of mails that a folder can hold. Or perhaps I should pack the old mails into archives when it reaches a certain number? But how do I do the archiving thing?

Thanks.

No clue if there's a fixed limit. Is there an option just to receive a daily digest instead of individual e-mails, or is that not suitable?

There isn't (as far as I know) a number limit. There is an upper limit of 1GB on mailboxes before you start to have trouble opening the mailbox.

Ya, there is a digest mode but I would prefer individual mails.

But I think I will try to delete those mails about what I would probably have no use in my lifetime.

    Thanks for your replies.
