quicktime audio

I can't get Quicktime to play thru my firewire audio interface. Everything else, iTunes, DVDs, and alerts, fine but not Quicktime. I've messed with the Quicktime player preferences and Quicktime preferences with no luck. What am I doing wrong? Thanks

    I'm not sure if having no response to my question is an indication of it being to easy or to hard...anyway, I figured out my problem. I always work at 96kHz in Digital Performer; when I shut down that app the interface stays at 96kHz, Quicktime, apparently, spits out audio at 44.1kHz.
