hey,

i was working away and my pen kinda self destructed which didn't bother me till i saw my beloved pbook covered in ink! it was a felt tip pen, and it came off the aluminium, but my space bar has a big blob of ink on it, which just isn't cool. Anyone have any tips on how I could maybe get it off without wrecking the keys?

Thanks!

I would take it to an Apple store. If you're lucky they can remove the affected keys and replace it with new keys at little or no cost.

Pop the key off, use toothbrush and soap and water, snap it back on?

I'll let you in on a little secret.

MOTSENBOCKER'S LIFT OFF The one with the blue cap.

I don't know how it works with aluminum though.

A felt tip pen was crushed in our sofa and for 5 years, the only thing we could do was flip the cushion over to hide the stain. We learned about this stuff at an OSH fair, and worked like a charm.

I cleaned ink spray from a pen from my trackpad, and a few keys, with paper towel and Windex. I think it was some extra strength shit. Took a while, but it slowly worked itself off.

I believe that a few scratches and stains add character. Like scars on a human.... everything tells a story.
