very stupid question - can i use the headphone provided on the plane on my ibook?

this is my first trip with my laptop,

i sort of remember people saying the headphone jack provided is different.

    Some airplanes do use different headphone jacks and some have adapters so you can use normal headphones. Some even use normal headphones and print "will not work in home appliances" on them, even though they do.

    If you plan to use the airlines own headphones on your laptop then they will probably not fit because airline 'phones use a plug with 2 x 3.5mm mono jacks. Take your own headphones with you and get one of these...







    Then you can use your cans on the laptop and the planes headphone socket. Available at all good electronics stores

    really depends on the airline. jetblue, if memory serves, has normal jacks and they let u keep the headphones. i think i remember going on delta or some other really big airline and they had those weird double-jacks. your better off buying a set of cheap ones before you go, just in case.

    Yea, that little adapter thingy is what I meant.

    Sometimes they give them away for free on the airline.
