There are POS systems for the Mac, and even web based ones using PHP. Have you checked VersionTracker or MacUpdate?
On the pharmacy management system... have you found such a system... if so, did you talk to the vendor? You might want to check the literature for that specialty for adds... This is a general mac bulletin board, that is way to specific a area...
At one Mac reseller where I worked, we just used Filemaker for our system. Add a barcode scanner and cash drawer (with a seperate credit card/check machine) and it worked just fine.

IIRC, Apple uses a private system. It is available to no one else.
