Fake. I don't know what is supposed to be in the circle (or even if there really is one), but someone did quite an extraordinary job with Photoshop this time---quite exceptional, but Apple would not let their logo be displayed in such a manner -- and the shading on the logo (from the light reflecting on the powerbook back) is too obvious. Sorry, no cigar here.
A reader noted to us earlier this evening that Jobs was about to appear on stage at an Intel conference in Las Vegas. We posted the story and a doctored image prematurely without proper research. At this point, we believe the story to be false. If it proves otherwise, we'll provide you with updates.

If you open the image in photoshop and look closely you can see that it's actually not cobbled together. There is nothing to indicate that the "photo" is not real. This does not lend any crediblility to the rumor however, since the "photo" could be from another place and time.
If the "photo" is a fake someone put much much more effort into it, than they did thought into the story behind the image. Or perhaps it was welded shut after all.

Hold down option & command (the two keys to the left of the space bar) and while holding them press the "+/=" key.
If that doesn't work immediately go into the system preferences and into the Universal Access section. You can turn it on there.

a 3 yearold can do a better photoshop job than that. hillarious.

Why are you so sure? It's much more likely that the photo is 'out of context'.
