I'm impressed. And even the bottom 4 items are links to causes. Good job, Apple.

Microsoft have done the same thing, but beside their Healt Felt message is an ad for some lap top thing and some other windows discount. So, unlike Apple, they are mixing business with misery.... Nice.

Dell has it on their home page now also.

I'd love to give MS & Dell the benefit of the doubt that they were not just following Apple, but my disgust at the companies won't let me truly believe it. But in all seriousness, I am trying to believe it. I want to believe it.

Anyway, in the grand scheme of things, what is important is they did put links up to raise money. Because the money is what is important since it will bring the much needed relief. The timing and motives of companies are really inconsequential in terms of helping our fellow man.

I just wish it didn't take disasters to bring us closer together and make us remember our humanity.

Well, and Michael Dell did donate something like $3M...personally.

I think all of this generosity is terrific, but it is starting to look a bit like PR to me. (Not Dell necessarily)

my feeling, is that it is becoming like this "look how caring I am" thing.

    Ick.
