Headphone line-in on front of car stereos?

I hate cassette adapters for iPods. Can anyone point me to a good car stereo head unit with a mini-stereo line-in jack on the face? I don't see why every new car stereo made doesn't have line-in or a USB port on the front for USB thumb drives.

It would be really cool if Apple would collaborate with some car stereo makers to allow playback from the shuffle directly into a front-mounted USB port. They could include a short USB extension cable if plugging in the Shuffle got in the way of the gear shift, etc.

The iPod shuffle is the first mobile player I feel safe plugging in and using while driving.

I have boughten Aiwa CD Decks because their inexpensive and look good for what they're worth. Come to find out when I bought my first iPod 2 years ago it had a jack on the front. Score! I'm also buying an iPod shuffle now (I sold my last iPods because I did not need all the space and really wanted a flash based player).

Anyways here is my suggestion, it's their newer model.

Many units also have an aux-in port on the back. (may require an adaptor) I would also recommend getting something like this:

to use with your stereo. The line-out from the ipod sounds much better than the headphone out.

Good! I hate to fight using both the iPod volume and the head unit volume to get the right balance. I will need a head unit, though (like the one suggested by gf10) that has a mini-stereo in on the front because I need the AUX on the back for my XM connection. Right now I've got XM coming through the FM band on the factory unit and the quality is pretty bad.
