Ip question/Proxy Server Question

I have a G3 B&W at home and i am setting up an proxy server, i have found some good guides to do so, but i dont have a static ip so my questions is, how is the best way to find the ip of this machine so i can connect to it from school, such as having it emailed to me or some other way.

    If you have only one computer at home, the only reason for having a proxy would be to have a caching proxy like squid to save traffic.

    You can write an AppleScript which periodically, like once a day or every 2 hours, sends you an e-mail containing the IP address.

    Any good looks or places to looks, since i don't know anything about applescript, but java is another story,but os x doesnt support 1.5
