Alright, basically all the product lines have received updates since the last thread.

So, it's time again

As in the past, no clockspeed or even 970 for the powermacs. we all want that.

Anything that boosts 2D-graphics by a factor of at least 5-10!

Explanation: After 2 months with OS X only I had to boot into OS 9. This reminded my of how fast scrolling can be! Switched back to OS 9 for browsing and office-work

All PowerMacs should ship with coupons for free lap dances in lieu of the useless "up-to-date" coupons in the box now.

Oh yeah, how about bringing back a floppy drive too!!

I'd like to see pro workstation graphics cards as an option.

    12-inch PowerBook:

    (1) DVI-out

    (2) 1GB max RAM

    (3) L3 cache

    (4) 1Ghz clock speed

    (5) More money in my wallet so that I can buy one immediately

That's what I want Apple to add to the 12-inch PowerBook, in that order.

I love this kind of stuff!

    iBook

    - G4 processor

    - AirPort Extreme

    - Special Edition widescreen model?

    iMac

    - 17" widescreen on all models

    - AirPort Extreme and Bluetooth on all models

    - 1 USB and 1 FireWire port located a bit more conveniently (since it IS a "digital hub" type of machine)

    PowerMac

    - I simply don't care about the towers.

    - Overpriced and underspec-ed

    - They can go to hell

    PowerBook G4

    - AirPort Extreme and Bluetooth on ALL models (12", 15" and 17")

    - Illuminated keyboard on ALL models

    - DVI and spanning on ALL models

(in other words, the PowerBooks - regardless of size - should all share the same core of nice, high-end "pro" features...in some ways, the 12" PowerBook - as cool as it is - seems "crippled" to me. I'd rather it have all the cool bells and whistles of the 17" model, even if it means it costs $2100 or so...the G4 iBook would come in and fill that $1000-1800 laptop gap)

    iPod

    - complete redesign with color video/photo display

    - voice note recording

    - larger hard drive capacity (to allow for above features)

    Apple Displays

    - Tilt capability

    - Swivel capability

    - Less plastic/"wasted space" around display area

Overall - applying to all of Apple's products - I'd like to see more customization and user-decided "tweaks" or upgrades when purchasing. In other words, every model can be custom configured with optical drive, video card, RAM and hard drive choices (within reason, of course). In other words, if you want a 17" widescreen iMac but don't care anything about the SuperDrive, you can simply order a 17" widescreen iMac with a Combo Drive.

That sort of thing: give the customer true choice and flexibility and don't tie features and cool things to certain products/tiers only (they used to be REALLY bad about this during the color era: to get a graphite iMac, had to buy the top-end model, even if your needs/budget only required a model that was $400 cheaper).

If people could truly custom build the system of their dreams (that truly met what they needed) like all these PC companies seem to offer in many cases, I think that would be a good thing.

    Across the Board:

    AirPort Extreme, FW 800, Bluetooth,

These three things signifiy the new set of computers coming out that are Mac OS X Boot-only

    For the laptops:

    Light sensing keyboards baby!

Maybe put that featuer into the desktop ones as well.....

    Maybe a solar powered wireless mouse..... <img src="graemlins/cancer.gif" border="0" alt="[cancer]" /> <img src="graemlins/cancer.gif" border="0" alt="[cancer]" /> <img src="graemlins/cancer.gif" border="0" alt="[cancer]" />

Escher just became the next greatest thing from Apple. And I like the known specs so far.

    But back on topic:

    Moblie:
    • Bluetooth and Airport included on all modells

    • DVI-out with included VGA-adapter

    • S-Video-out

    Desktop:
    • (bto) Bluetooth keyboard and mouse

    • digital audio output

    • new line: small, silent office Mac or small, silent, easy to configure av-serving-enhanced Airport base station

    eMac:
    • better tube

    Displays:
    • keep competitive price points

    • include DVI-to-ADC adapter

    iPod:
    • cut prices

    iBook: G4

    PowerBook: Dual G4

Power Mac: RAID 0+1, better audio i/o, front usb/fw/audio ports

iMac: better audio, front usb/fw/audio ports, and the end all be all... removable AGP video card (same goes for eMac).

I think this would make the iMac darn near perfect. You can upgrade RAM and HDD already, and the 17" WSLCD is good for most people, but if you could upgrade the video card in it, damn... <img src="graemlins/cancer.gif" border="0" alt="[cancer]" /> <img src="graemlins/cancer.gif" border="0" alt="[cancer]" /> <img src="graemlins/cancer.gif" border="0" alt="[cancer]" />

More ram - 256mb ram is just not enough for OS X!!

More speed - Need I say more?

    Lower prices - Nuff Said.

I have to admit, that WOULD be awesome.

512 MB DDR RAM minimum standard on all models--no more of this 256 or even !128! nonsense...

iMac...easily upgradeable components (i.e. video card), larger screen, colors, lower the price a tad...

    eMac...drop it...CRTs suck IMHO.

    iBook...Widescreen display...higher rez...colors

    MiniBook...higher screen Rez...L3 cache...backlit keyboard...PC Card slot...DVI adapter...better battery tech

Powerbook 15"....make it the same as the 17" with just the smaller screen.

    PowerBook 17"...duals?

PowerMac...If we can't say 970, then all I could say is lower the price a tad.

iPod...larger HDD, a few more apps, voice recoreder, AM/FM tuner...fix the battery drain thing where it drains after several days of non-use. I don't care about color right now.

I think the MiniBook is the only machine in need of a major overhaul. ALREADY!

    So, here is my wishlist:

    1) a new 64bit Risc CPU on all models (kill G3-G4)

    2) USB2 (they are late already) (also increse the number of ports)

    3) Serial ATA hard drives

These specs are for ALL Macs... laptops and desktops!

Ohhh, I forgot the fourth one... cheaper prices!
