    I thought Safari was DOOMED!!!

Have you tried all the usuals? Cleared cache etc. I think the favicons were an issue as well.

There is also something you can plug into the terminal to speed it up (so they say). A bit of googling should turn it up, or alternately the "friendly" people here might be able to provide it for you.

wow we need MORE SAFARI THREADS! here, i'll put them all together:

    "waa... safari is slow"

    "use firefox"

    "dont forget about omniweb!"

    "i like safari's interace best"

"firefox is for 'power' users and that makes me cool"

"no matter what, dont use IE"

    "use whatever suits you best"

there, all the replies you'll ever receive in a browser thread.

i did some research on apple's site and discovred if you delete Safari's "Downloads.plst" file it helps. though i think firefox is much quicker. i think i may switch to it

For all complaining about Safari sluggishness, downloading SafariSpeed will help--it zaps the delay built into Safari before it loads the next site. It will also change the favicons to generic blue bubbles. You only need to run it once and it takes only seconds to do it. Deleting Safari cache should help also.

I'd point you to the download but I'm not sure I remember where I got it--probably versiontracker.

It's got nothing to do with Safari as "ALL" browsers are slow under OSX. It's that f-cking Finder, I know it is!!!!!!
