Ram on PB12

Hey all,

Ok, I think I need more RAM in my machine (: I have512MB now, and I'd like to have 1 gig.

Thing is... I opened it up and there's one 256MB thinggie. And that's it. Which, to me, indicates there's either 256MB built-in somewhere, or another 256MB somewhere I can't find.

So the question is, if there IS 256MB builtin... how do I upgrade to 1 gig? I can't get a 768MB DIMM...

I'd get a 1 gig DIMM and just go with that but 1 gig DIMMs cost sooo much more than two 512s!

Anyone? Am I missing something?

Yes, there's 256 built-in, and one slot that's currently taken up by a 256 stick. To get to >= 1GB you have to get a 1GB stick... it's a little more expensive than two 512's, but there's one on Newegg that some have had good experiences with:
