    They have the order, but have not been able to ship it yet.

    as in they have it built and its ready to ship but haven't or they're still working on the order and its not ready to ship?

    That I can't tell with htose details. If you have the web order number, you could call them, and check the status, so whether it's been built, or it's been shipped to US, or it's already ready to ship ... most likely the status is between being built and transport to US.

    Sorry, maybe i'm reading this correctly but it from what it sounds like, Apple doesn't have their computers made here? I figured all parts made somewhere else but were finally assambled here (maybe a dumb assumption but nonetheless).... Guess that explains why its taking so long. I wish their online site listed more details, guess i'll just have to call them when they open back up tomorrow.

    Laptops are normally aseembled in Asia. If I look on the bottom of my Powerbook, bought in USA, it says "Assembled in Taiwan".
